Thane Toastmasters hits 500 !!!
Thane Toastmasters was chartered on 8th September 2011 with 21 Members with TM Rajesh Rupani as the Charter President. The Initial meeting place was Nalanda Institute of Management Studies, Hari Om Nagar. Then there was a few change of venues from the clubhouse of CastleRock to Teen Haath Naka in Thane West and to TMA HALL Wagle Estate. From 2019, we are operating our meetings at Wavikar Eye Institute which is one of the best Toastmasters meeting venues in Mumbai.
The USP of Thane Toastmasters is the presence of vibrancy and excitement in the meetings. Quality meetings, and regular get-togethers all ensure that we members learn in the moments of fun.
There was a time when the members came early as there were no seats left. From there the Corona stuck and we bounced back with online meetings. We were always a resilient team and we were one of the first few clubs in Mumbai to start Hybrid meetings. Now we run power-packed meetings with buzzing youngsters – that too on a Sunday Morning.
The quality I found in meetings is no compromise on quality and the members are serious about their assignments. We always align with our District in playing roles in Area, Division and District meets and always we have our members bringing accolades to our club. Our members mainly consist of younger folk who are ambitious and bring energy and vibrancy into our meetings. We always have a good guest presence in our meetings and the member transformation rate is very impressive. One of the mottos we follow in our club is we ensure that no member leaves the hall without speaking.
We are blessed with 2 accomplished Seniors – DTM Ramanathan Sir and TM Sriram Sir – who proactively guide our members and ex-com members to strive for excellence in our activities.
Every 50th meeting, we make it a point to celebrate our milestone meeting. On November 5, 2023, we are reaching a brilliant milestone. The 500th Meeting. We are celebrating our 500th meeting in a grandeur manner.
Thane Toastmasters have transformed the lives of 100s of youngsters and there is no looking back. It is certain that our club will continue to be proud of District 98 and will continue to achieve milestones year after year in tandem to continue its mission of enlightening its members.
